September 2021 to present: I have worked several years for Baby Prestige around London including for families in five star hotels. I have worked with a variety of clients with children of a variety of ages. I will often meet the children at the hotel. Depending on what the parents would like, I take children on day trips around London or stay on site to play games and engage in activities with them in their hotel room. I often need to prepare their dinner followed by their bedtime routine (changing into pyjamas, brushing teeth) before reading them a story and putting them to bed.
November 2019 – present: I am a primary school teacher in a variety of London schools, working with the teaching agency ANZ UK Education. I teach Maths, Literacy, Science and Health to key stage 1 and 2 (5-12 years old). This involves all the usual tasks that I learnt in my degree of how to implement and lead lessons in a classroom. This includes time management, behaviour management and creating an interesting yet structured learning environment that is inclusive for all students.
November 2019 – Feb 2021: I took care of two girls, a 20 month old and a 3 year old for a family in Fulham, London. I picked up the children from nursery and took them to the park to play and eat a snack. We then walked home and spent time playing more games. I would prepare dinner, bath and clothe them and brush their teeth. The role also involved usual tasks of looking after young children (changing nappies, comforting them if they hurt themselves and knowing how to react calmly if they have a tantrum or are upset). We always ended with some bed time stories before they fell asleep. I put the baby to sleep by rocking her with a bottle of milk.
February 2019 – Dec 2023: Maggie and Rose: Family Members Club, Kensington, London. The role of a party entertainer involves needing to know magic tricks, songs and games to make a party fun for the birthday child and their guests. There is often a theme so I may be dressed as a princess, a pirate or a superhero and interact in a silly, fun and cheeky manner. I also coordinate the times of when the kids eat as well as prepare the candles for the cake and lead the happy birthday song. We always end with a bubble disco and the handing out of the party bags.
February 2011 – June 2011: I was an Au Pair for a family in Paris for two children Ines and Alexandre (10 and 13 years old). This role involved making breakfast with the kids every morning and walking them to school. In the afternoon I would pick them up, make them a snack and help them with their homework. I would then prepare the dinner and make sure they had showered before their mother got home. Other tasks would involve taking them to weekend sport activities and events.
About me:
I grew up in Sydney, Australia, as part of a big, lively family with an older sister, a younger sister, and a younger brother. Being surrounded by three siblings and a whole crew of cousins meant life was always energetic, shared, and full of fun.
My love for nature and the outdoors started early, rooted in long days spent at the beach, camping trips, and school breaks at my granny’s beach house on the South Coast. That early curiosity naturally blossomed into a lifelong passion for nature and being out in the open air.
With a food editor for a mum, cooking was very much a part of our home. I love creating in the kitchen, exploring new flavours, and discovering foreign cultures and countries through travel. When I’m unwinding, you’ll usually find me practicing yoga, diving into a good book, catching a film at the cinema, or dancing.
