Since September 2023: I teach English to children aged 8 to 11, in both French and English. Having spent my childhood in the United States and completed my bachelor’s degree entirely in English in the Netherlands, I grew up in an international environment where a strong command of English is essential and highly valued. Over 2023, 2024 and 2025 I have worked with several children of differing profiles and levels, which has taught me to adapt my teaching to each one: some needed to regain confidence speaking aloud, while others were mainly looking to build vocabulary or improve their reading comprehension. I therefore prepare varied, interactive activities to make learning engaging and natural. This experience has taught me patience, attentiveness and organisation, while maintaining a serious and encouraging framework.
Since August 2020: Every summer, I look after four siblings (born in 2022, 2018, 2016 and 2012) in a family home in the south of France. Present from morning to evening for several weeks at a time, I take charge of their daily routine and adapt to the needs of each age group: preparing meals and bottles, nappy changes, naps, baths, craft activities and outdoor games. In particular, I have been there through the youngest child’s first years, gradually learning the routines that come with babies and then toddlers. I am also responsible for safety around the pool, and I organise suitable activities in an attentive, reassuring environment. As the family is English, we speak naturally in both French and English.
Since 2020: I work regularly as a babysitter through the Babysittor app, which has allowed me to support many families with very different routines and needs. I have looked after children of all ages, from two months old to thirteen, adapting quickly to each home, to the parents’ habits and to each child’s temperament. Beyond standard childcare at home, I have also handled school pick-ups and run children’s birthday parties. These experiences have taught me to manage several children at once, to stay attentive even in lively settings, and to quickly establish a sense of trust and safety. Working with so many different families has also given me real flexibility, a strong sense of responsibility and the adaptability that childcare requires.
Since 2020, particularly in 2022, 2025 and again in 2026: I have looked after large groups of children at weddings and family events bringing together children of widely varying ages. In this kind of setting, which is often busy and demanding, my role is to take charge of the children throughout the day and evening so that parents can enjoy the occasion with complete peace of mind. I make sure the atmosphere is fun, reassuring and safe, organising games, craft activities, quiet moments and entertainment suited to each age group.
From 2019 to 2023: I took part in my school’s Step Ahead programme, dedicated to teaching English to children. As part of it, I worked as a teaching assistant for Year 2, Year 4 and Year 5 classes. This experience allowed me to support young pupils in their first encounters with English, helping them build vocabulary, improve their pronunciation and gain confidence speaking aloud. I assisted the teacher in preparing and running varied activities such as interactive games, songs, visual exercises and short conversations suited to each age group.
