From September 2024 to June 2025: I looked after a 5-year-old girl. Care took place on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., sometimes until 5:30 p.m. Every Wednesday, I arrived at her home, prepared her meal, and then we went to her one-hour judo class. After she had burned off some energy, I walked her back home. We would then either play board games or pretend play (like playing teacher), or go to her friend’s house, who lived about a 20-minute walk away, until one of the parents returned.
From September 2025 to February 2026: I took care of a 7-year-old boy and his 4-year-old sister. On Tuesdays, I picked them up from school at 4:30 p.m., and we walked home together (about 10 minutes). They had a snack, then I helped them with their homework. Once finished, they would watch cartoons on TV. Their parents usually arrived around 7:30 p.m. to have dinner together.
Since January 2026: I have been taking care of an 8-year-old boy occasionally in the evenings when his parents are unavailable. The hours vary. I prepare his meals, help him with homework when needed, and make sure he has taken his shower before bedtime. He really enjoys playing chess, and so do I, so we often play together before he goes to sleep.
Since July 2023: I have been working as an activity leader in preschools in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. The children are between 3 and 6 years old. I have worked every summer since then, as well as occasionally during the school year. I help welcome parents in the morning and evening. We usually start the day by supervising the children in the playground so they can burn off energy, then we introduce manual or sports activities and carry them out together. I often organize hands-on science activities—for example, we build a skeleton together and learn about its internal anatomy, ending with a Q&A session. I created these activities to introduce children to science from an early age. We then have lunch in the cafeteria. In the afternoon, we usually go on outings (zoo, cinema, science museum, park, etc.) before returning for snack time and parents’ pick-up. Working hours: 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
