Since July 2026: I look after a 3-year-old girl and her 10-year-old brother in Lausanne, Switzerland, on some Saturday mornings (7.30am to 12pm) and occasionally for the whole weekend (7.45am to 8pm, with a break at lunchtime). I offer a range of activities such as games and drawing. I wake the little girl in the morning and get her ready (dressing, making her bed, doing her hair), then prepare breakfast. Her brother gets up whenever he likes, often around 9am, and has breakfast then. I give the little girl her lunch and settle her for her nap at midday, with quiet time from around 11.30 or 11.45, putting her into her pyjamas and reading her a story. This family has five dogs, and I am very comfortable around animals.
Since February 2026: I look after a 6-year-old girl in Évian every Thursday evening, as well as on some days at the University of Lausanne campus, where her mother works. On Thursday evenings I care for her from around 7.30 or 7.45pm until 9.15 or 9.30pm. I play with her and introduce her to English now and then through fun games. She has already had dinner by the time I arrive, and I am responsible for getting her to bed before her mother comes home: pyjamas, a bedtime story and quiet time before lights out. On campus, I keep her busy with hands-on activities such as making flower bouquets or going on expeditions to spot the campus wildlife, then give her lunch at around 11.45am before her mother collects her. This family also has two cats, which I looked after while they were on holiday.
From February 2023 to January 2026: I occasionally looked after a 12-month-old girl, providing ad hoc support to her mother. I usually cared for her on certain evenings, for one to two hours, and settled her for the night during these evening sessions.
From January 2022 to February 2026: I looked after a 6-year-old boy at weekends. I prepared his breakfast and lunch, and organised games and activities throughout the day. While I was preparing meals, he was allowed to watch age-appropriate cartoons.
From 2016 to 2021 (from the age of 12 to 17): I helped supervise younger children (from the age of 3) at my riding school, during baby pony lessons in the school holidays and on Wednesdays. I have been riding since the age of 3 and was often asked to look after the children before, during and after lessons, as well as to help care for the ponies.
For two weeks in July 2019: I looked after two children from a family in Vinzier during the school holidays (a 12-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy), living in their home for two full weeks. I was responsible for getting them up in the morning, all meals during the day, activities (games, forest walks, outings), and the little boy’s bath and bedtime.
