The Louvre, one of the largest museums in the world, symbol of Paris, is often visited for the beautiful Mona Lisa, painted by Leonardo da Vinci. But however, so many neighboring masterpieces remain in the shadow of the famous smile full of mystery! Each department deserves a specific visit.
We will begin with three great ladies of the museum “The Venus of Milo“, “The Mona Lisa” and “The Victory of Samothrace”, unmissable and mythical. We will continue by visiting the great gallery of the Denon wing. We will discover the meaning of certain animals in art, represented by the masters of the Renaissance. A small technical point – we will see the Italian sfumato or the glaze of the masters of the north. We will then go down to the Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt, to mummies and magical scarabs. We will go back in time to the era of the most powerful rulers of the Nile region. The kings of the whole world left their traces in the museum!
Finally, we will discover the Richelieu wing, where are hidden sumptuous royal apartments of Napoleon III, so impressive that they could shade in Versailles itself.
A break at Angelina
After satiating our thirst for art, we’ll have a snack at Angelina – hot chocolate (or cold!), Ice-cream and iconic pastries. Finally, a carousel ride at the Tuileries will be the final touch of our visit.
